About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Aggressively market the J.B. Hunt brand to develop new accounts and secure an established customer base
  • Solicit business from new customers to build business volume according to business needs
  • Conduct lead generation activities for new and incremental business, including cold calling, networking, and other opportunity prospecting methods
  • Visit prospective and existing customers at corporate headquarters or other sites as needed
  • Travel to customer sites to meet customer needs
  • Monitor opportunity management and account health, including customer KPI review, revenue quality monitoring, additional opportunities, and contract and pay terms review
  • Coordinate with internal teams and customers to implement customer solutions, including participation in kick-off
  • Meet with customers and prospective customers to understand business needs, identify scope, submit proposals, finalize contracts, and win business

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3-4 years of related sales or customer service experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively over the phone
  • Basic time-management skills
  • Experience in transportation
  • Self-motivation
  • Ability to multitask
  • Experience in sales
  • Ability and willingness to seek out work and the drive to accomplish goals
  • Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers
  • Knowledge of the activities and responsibilities involved in selling a product or service
  • Ability to analyze customer activities, profiles and information
  • Understanding of the importance of meeting or exceeding established targets and ability to drive critical activities to completion
  • 3-5 years of transportation or supply chain management experience, preferably in customer facing environment, or 3-5 years of transportation or supply chain sales experience
  • This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship
