About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Facilitate gate transactions at J.B. Hunt locations with a Remote Security Operations presence
Protect company assets from theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues
Create accurate logs of gate transactions
Assist individuals entering and exiting facilities
Report suspicious activity
Monitor and assess driver-entered data in the Gatekeeper system; identify assignment, maintenance, and equipment issues; provide solutions and document discrepancies
Authenticate third-party carrier information and verify outside carriers pulling J.B. Hunt assets
Guide drivers on security procedures for entering and exiting facilities
Follow location-specific remote security procedures
Live monitor RSO yards, gate complexes, and surrounding areas for suspicious activity
Check gates, cameras, intercoms, and other security equipment for functionality
Regulate and monitor traffic flow to prevent safety hazards and resolve backups
Support and enforce SOPs for security technology and systems
Authenticate employment and train J.B. Hunt personnel on secure PINs and access cards
Report credential misuse and support security-protocol education
Audit transactions and traffic; document and report unauthorized bypasses and safety incidents
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve gate operation failures and system errors
Work onsite in Lowell, Arkansas, Thursday through Saturday and every other Wednesday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or GED with up to 1 year of experience in security, logistics, or related field, and/or suitable combination of education, experience, and training, or military equivalent
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Interest in learning new technologies/software applications
Ability to prepare detailed written reports and fill out forms with accuracy
Experience in safety management (preferred)
Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums
Ability to maintain professionalism while dealing with difficult individuals
Ability to make independent time-sensitive decisions
Ability to work both individually and as a team
Ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations to provide excellent service
Knowledge of basic employee safety procedures and programs
