About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Co-administer the organization's leave programs with the Leave of Absence vendor, Sedgwick.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Review and validate incoming data and calculations from the LOA vendor.
- Calculate or verify Short Term Disability payments related to employee leaves.
- Update and maintain leave status records in the HRIS.
- Serve as an escalation point for employees regarding Leave of Absence and Short Term Disability processes.
- Provide guidance on leave policies and available benefits.
- Communicate with employees about leave status, required documentation, and return-to-work plans.
- Collaborate with local HR representatives and managers to coordinate leave processes and return-to-work transitions.
- Advise managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers' compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee leave records.
- Partner with the Return-to-Work and Job Accommodation Specialist as part of the centralized leave administration program.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in a similar leave administration and/or benefits coordination role supporting a large and complex organization with a largely remote and multi-state workforce.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems; SAP SuccessFactors preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite tools including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
- Expert level knowledge and capability using Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations, including FMLA and ADA is preferred.
- Experience working with LOA vendors and managing vendor relationships is preferred.
- Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) or leave administration is preferred.
- Familiarity with disability programs and workers' compensation policies is preferred.
