About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and lead credit functions across specific geographic areas and multiple business segments
- Develop and maintain credit policies and guidelines
- Establish credit limits and ensure proper compliance
- Provide leadership to multiple Area Financial Service Managers across geographically dispersed locations
- Manage the entire credit portfolio for an assigned customer segment
- Report to the Senior Retail Financial Services Manager
- Lead and coach a team of Area Financial Service Managers
- Analyze financial strengths and weaknesses of prospective and existing customers to determine eligibility for credit, financing, or related services
- Develop, implement, and manage collection procedures
- Establish and maintain an effective credit information network
- Manage collections, including follow-up inquiries, negotiations with past-due accounts, and referrals to collection agencies
- Provide input for credit policy updates
- Develop performance objectives, communicate objectives, and monitor performance
- Interview, train, develop, and motivate employees
- Evaluate and improve the credit function for the assigned area
- Recommend improvements to the Director, Global Credit
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
- 8+ years related experience and/or training
- Experience in Food Manufacturing and/or Agriculture highly preferred
- Prior experience in collections and lending and/or the extension of credit
- Good working knowledge of accounting and banking practices, relevant laws and legal processes, marketing strategy and general agricultural practices
- Solid background in business administration and financial analysis
- Prior experience leading multiple managers/supervisors is highly preferred
- Must be willing to travel to assigned markets 50% of the time (Western Region)
- Satisfactory completion of a post-offer criminal background check
