About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct management and support to achieve success at the hotel level
  • Manage service, revenue, and profitability
  • Manage the property according to company policies, operating procedures, and brand standards
  • Maintain professional appearance and ensure certification for the role
  • Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and provide 24/7 on-call support
  • Ensure compliance with franchise standards and local regulations
  • Manage HR policies, recruit, train, and develop staff
  • Document HR activities
  • Handle payroll, staffing, coaching, and discipline of direct reports
  • Monitor service quality, inspect rooms, and address guest feedback
  • Oversee revenue management and pricing
  • Collaborate with Sales on group bookings
  • Manage hotel budgets and financial statements
  • Execute the annual hotel plan
  • Supervise capital expenditures and ensure proper bidding and approvals
  • Review invoices and ensure accurate coding
  • Foster community relationships and represent the hotel at local events
  • Perform safety and security duties, including reporting suspicious activities and handling lost and found items

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3-5 years of General Manager experience preferred, or equivalent hotel management experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or business, or related experience
  • Previous hotel brand experience and management skills are strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Enthusiastic, can-do attitude
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to provide 24/7 on-call support
  • Ability to operate office equipment
  • Ability to perform light physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand and walk for most of the workday, with some bending, twisting, and climbing required
  • Ensure certification for the role
  • Ability to comply with franchise standards and local regulations
