About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle inbound calls, emails, texts, and chats from consumers seeking help with their accounts
- Diagnose account issues, resolve them, take payments, and document each interaction in the CRM
- Adjust communication style to callers while remaining empathetic and professional during difficult conversations
- Meet or exceed CSAT, QA, SLA, recovery, and handle-time targets
- Evaluate inbound workflows and propose process changes and pilots to improve agent efficiency and caller experience
- Track caller feedback, identify patterns and bugs, and communicate findings to Product, Operations, and Compliance
- Prepare thoroughly, manage time, follow through on commitments, and adapt to changing policies, tools, and caller needs
- Follow federal and state collection laws, consumer protection laws, and internal policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1–2+ years in a high-volume, customer-facing role, such as customer service or collections
- Track record of hitting targets like CSAT, QA scores, SLAs, recovery goals, and handle time
- Reliability and ability to keep commitments and flag problems early
- Clear, empathetic spoken and written communication, including in tense conversations about money
- Understanding of rules around payments, recoveries, and account issues
- Comfort with support tools; Zendesk, Twilio, and Google Workspace preferred
- Interest in using AI to improve how the team works
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- English proficiency implied by the requirement to communicate clearly in English; additional languages are optional
