About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, implement, and maintain DG transportation policies and procedures in accordance with national and international regulations (e.g., IATA DGR, IMDG Code, ADR, RID).
- Coordinate and oversee the classification, packaging, labeling, and documentation of dangerous goods shipments.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with DG regulations and internal safety standards.
- Provide expert guidance and training to internal teams on DG handling, storage, and transportation requirements.
- Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth and compliant DG shipments.
- Investigate and report on DG incidents, near misses, and non-conformities, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Stay updated on changes to DG regulations and industry best practices, integrating them into JD.com's processes.
- Support the development and maintenance of DG management systems and software solutions.
- Assist in the selection and evaluation of DG-compliant vendors and service providers.
- Contribute to the overall safety culture and risk management strategies within JD.com's logistics network.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in dangerous goods transportation and logistics, preferably within a large-scale e-commerce or retail environment.
- Certified in Dangerous Goods Regulations (e.g., IATA DGR, IMDG Code, ADR/RID) with current certification.
- In-depth knowledge of national and international regulations pertaining to the transport of dangerous goods by air, sea, road, and rail.
- Strong understanding of DG classification, packaging requirements, labeling, placarding, and documentation.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements to operational processes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
- French, English & Mandarin languages are required
