About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle scheduling-related requests for patients and families using automated call distribution software and established protocols
- Schedule appointments and triage general inquiries
- Direct callers to appropriate healthcare services
- Support first-call resolution, registration accuracy, and access to Jefferson Health services
- Schedule patient appointments and register patients across the Jefferson Health System
- Use the electronic medical record (EMR) for scheduling, registration, appointment confirmation, demographic verification, insurance eligibility verification, inquiry resolution, and user support
- Coordinate orders, referrals, and insurance requirements
- Handle assigned call volume or digital requests using central scheduling telephony software
- Maintain individual and team qualitative and quantitative performance targets
- Interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff consistent with Jefferson values
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1 year of previous related experience required
- Proficient in the use of computers
- Type 35 wpm
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical terminology used by insurance and managed care health plans
- Bilingual skills a plus
- High School Diploma/GED listed as preferred qualification
- Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting/standing
- Frequent keyboard use
