About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Oral Surgery department in a temporary capacity
- Float between Center City and Bryn Mawr as needed
- Provide chairside surgical support to oral and maxillofacial surgeons and facial pain physicians
- Assist with oral and maxillofacial surgery procedures
- Maintain logs required for inspections and certifications
- Sterilize instruments and equipment and prepare sterile tray setups
- Take, develop, and appropriately label radiographs
- Maintain logs according to OMFS workflows
- Maintain sterile technique during sterile OMFS procedures
- Follow clinical policies, procedures, and workflows
- Maintain patient electronic medical records according to OMFS charting workflows
- Ensure patient safety following BLS guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experienced Dental Surgical Assistant
- Competency performing a wide variety of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures
- Proficiency in radiographs, including CBCT, periapical, and Panorex X-rays
- Ability to sterilize and reprocess instrumentation and equipment
- Ability to prepare sterile tray setups and maintain sterile technique
- Knowledge of clinical policies, procedures, and workflows
- Compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, ADA, TJUH Safety, Infection Control, and Quality Assurance requirements
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to follow BLS guidelines for patient safety
- Ability to maintain electronic medical records according to OMFS charting workflows
