About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide per diem coverage at the Lansdale and Einstein Montgomery locations
- Perform complete echocardiographic examinations including M-mode, two-dimensional, and Doppler echocardiography
- Assist cardiologists, fellows, and other appropriate personnel with transesophageal and stress echocardiographic examinations
- Escort patients to examination rooms, review history questionnaires, and explain tests
- Perform 2D, M-mode, and color Doppler echocardiograms according to department policy and physician orders
- Perform transesophageal echocardiograms on non-operative and intra-operative patients
- Perform dobutamine stress and stress echocardiograms
- Log patient and test data for accurate billing and record keeping
- Monitor clinical equipment performance and repairs
- Maintain images in the EHR
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize clinical equipment
- Participate in on-call duties according to department policy
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED
- High School Diploma and completion of a two-year echocardiography training program accredited by CAAHEP, or cardiovascular technology program accredited by CAAHEP
- Registration by a national certification organization such as ARDMS or CCI required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
- Knowledge of heart functions and activities, heart arrhythmias, emergency cardiac conditions, and emergency responses
- Knowledge of cardiac testing equipment and protocols
- Knowledge of echocardiography principles and cardiac ultrasound procedures
- Knowledge of medical record keeping
- Knowledge of medical equipment used in patient care
- Ability to lift and carry 40–50 lbs
- Frequent to continuous standing/walking
- Ability to perform role-specific activities including kneeling, bending, squatting, and CPR
