Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the design, implementation, assessment, and continuous improvement of the accelerated Hybrid Distance Learning DPT Program
  • Collaborate with department, college, and university leadership
  • Cultivate university, community, and clinical partnerships
  • Lead curriculum design, program implementation, faculty recruitment, and strategic clinical partnership development
  • Foster student engagement, academic success, professional formation, and belonging
  • Lead program review, outcomes assessment, and continuous quality improvement
  • Oversee academic and administrative operations
  • Evaluate, mentor, and manage faculty
  • Participate in fiscal planning, budgeting, and resource management
  • Support student recruitment, retention, and success
  • Ensure compliance with CAPTE accreditation standards
  • Teach within areas of expertise and program need
  • Teach or co-teach physical therapy courses
  • Maintain a scholarly agenda consistent with academic rank and core faculty expectations
  • Participate in program, college, university, professional, and community service, committees, accreditation initiatives, clinical education consortia, and professional organizations
  • Contribute to faculty governance within the DPT program and Jefferson College of Rehabilitation Sciences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of six years of full-time higher education experience
  • At least three years as a core faculty member in an entry-level physical therapist education program
  • Academic doctorate in a related field
  • Associate Professor rank or higher, or qualifications supporting appointment at that rank
  • Current physical therapy licensure in Pennsylvania or eligibility for Pennsylvania licensure
  • Record of scholarly achievement commensurate with academic appointment
  • Evidence of teaching excellence
  • Effective leadership and communication skills
  • Experience with hybrid, online, or distance education preferred
  • Proficiency or willingness to develop expertise in online and hybrid pedagogy, instructional technology, and evidence-based teaching practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proficiency with data and database management
  • Commitment to interprofessional collaboration across healthcare disciplines and organizations
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Experience with distance learning education preferred
  • Experience with CAPTE accreditation processes preferred
  • Experience with and vision for student retention and support preferred
  • ABPTS board certification, residency, or fellowship training preferred
