Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Specialized Diploma graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
  • BLS - Basic Life Support from American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • RN - Licensed Registered Nurse in New Jersey
  • Active RN license required in state of practice
  • Knowledge of patient- and family-centered practice
  • Cultural awareness and ability to connect effectively with diverse people
  • Effective communication and appropriate delegation skills
  • Ability to assess ailments and injuries and implement treatment plans
  • Knowledge of child and adult education techniques
  • Knowledge of medication administration and prescription practices
  • Knowledge of discharge planning and follow-up care
  • Knowledge of nursing assessment and diagnosis or clinical judgment
  • Health information documentation skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree BSN or completion of BSN or appropriate advanced degree within 3 years of hire strongly preferred
  • 1 year previous experience as an RN in an acute care setting strongly preferred
  • Previous RN experience in critical care, emergency department, Interventional Radiology and/or Cath Lab
  • Ability to lift and carry 40–50 lbs.
  • Frequent to continuous standing/walking; patient transporters can walk 8–10 miles per shift
  • Ability to perform kneeling, bending, squatting, and CPR as required
