About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Facilitate plant continuous improvement efforts using LEAN manufacturing concepts and tools
- Analyze, track, and communicate key performance indicators using corporate management systems
- Facilitate root cause analysis workshops to identify and eliminate waste, reduce downtime, and improve business processes
- Support operational efforts to raise productivity and efficiency throughout the plant
- Assist, plan, and coordinate continuous improvement activities
- Work with Production and Group Managers to reduce organizational barriers and improve operational flow and results
- Provide reporting and publish KPIs
- Own assigned change initiatives throughout project delivery
- Devise support materials, revised processes, practices, training, reporting, and systems enhancements with team members and value streams
- Set up standard work based on best practices and training resources
- Train and mentor associates on lean concepts
- Assist with departmental continuous improvement projects
- Attend quarterly JCI training and project meetings
- Spend approximately 50% to 60% of the role on the plant floor assisting with projects and process improvement efforts
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of continuous improvement experience at a JELD-WEN plant or comparable facility in manufacturing
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Multi-tasking abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other appropriate JELD-WEN software, computer programs, and applications
- Ability and motivation to learn
- Ability to lift approximately 20+/- lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office and/or manufacturing environment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Dependability
- Ability to recognize unsafe conditions and take appropriate action
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to receive frequent supervision
