About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Implement and maintain the facility lubrication program
- Perform scheduled lubrication tasks on production equipment, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical systems
- Conduct routine inspections to identify lubrication deficiencies, leaks, contamination, and abnormal equipment conditions
- Collect oil and grease samples for condition monitoring and analysis
- Maintain proper lubricant storage, handling, and contamination control practices
- Monitor lubricant inventory and assist with ordering and stocking requirements
- Ensure all lubrication routes and procedures are completed on schedule
- Update maintenance records, lubrication logs, and CMMS documentation
- Assist maintenance technicians with preventive and predictive maintenance activities
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and lubrication practices
- Support root cause failure investigations related to lubrication issues
- Maintain lubrication equipment, transfer containers, grease guns, and filtration systems
- Follow safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and environmental regulations
- Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Maintain clean and organized lubrication stations and work areas
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1-3 years of industrial maintenance, lubrication, or manufacturing experience preferred
- Basic understanding of bearings, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, pumps, and rotating equipment
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance procedures, work orders, and equipment manuals
- Experience using CMMS software preferred
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Machinery Lubrication Technician (MLT) certification preferred
- Experience with oil analysis programs and contamination control
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies
- Forklift and aerial lift certification preferred
- Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance practices
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of lubrication fundamentals and best practices
- Strong documentation and record-keeping abilities
- Effective communication and teamwork
- Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to work in manufacturing environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and moving equipment
- Ability to safely access elevated and confined work areas when required
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to work a standard manufacturing schedule with overtime, weekends, and call-in support as required
