About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate production equipment safely and efficiently
- Mix raw materials and monitor primer and humidification water application
- Monitor prime line operations and parameters, resolve irregularities, and maximize runtime
- Optimize material usage and notify the operator of line needs
- Perform booth cleanups and system cleanup tasks
- Perform, interpret, and act on quality tests and data
- Participate in SQDCI
- Maintain housekeeping along the prime line, paint kitchen, humidification deck, and quality testing areas
- Communicate with operators, packagers, incoming and outgoing personnel, management, maintenance, and safety contacts
- Maintain complete and accurate written and electronic records and data
- Inspect equipment for wear or malfunction and report issues
- Perform or assist with maintenance and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
- Operate forklifts and other equipment as necessary
- Learn and cover other department jobs during breaks, lunch, and vacation
- Abide by company policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Operate equipment safely and efficiently
- Mix raw materials and monitor primer and humidification water application areas
- Interpret and act on assigned quality tests/data
- Understand and apply line parameters and grading specifications
- Familiarity with equipment components, sub-systems, support systems, and terminology
- Ability to perform or assist with maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks
- Knowledge and understanding of Prime Line Operator duties
- Ability to learn other department jobs for short-term coverage
- Ability to operate a forklift and other equipment as necessary
- Maintain required tools for use on the job
- Required PPE: eye protection, hearing protection, gloves when handling skins, and fall protection at unguarded heights above six feet or when operating high-lift equipment
- Compliance with company safety training, lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, ergonomics, forklift, PPE, emergency preparedness, hazard communication, electrical safety, and blood-borne pathogen prevention
- Overtime may be required
