About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform repetitive production support operations using hand tools, machinery, and equipment to manufacture JELD-WEN doors and building products
  • Read customer requirements, production schedules, work orders, batch cards, drawings, and specifications
  • Gather materials, verify order characteristics, label materials, and ensure door accessories are included before packaging
  • Visually inspect, select, package, and assemble products according to specifications
  • Operate machines accurately and efficiently according to each order
  • Build doors according to work instructions and production pace requirements
  • Load, operate, shut down, disassemble, clean, inspect, and maintain machinery and work areas
  • Troubleshoot machines and communicate material, maintenance, repair, and quality issues to supervisors or management
  • Perform basic repairs and assess product failures, damage, and workmanship errors
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to plant or quality personnel
  • Maintain clean, organized, safe, and functional equipment and work areas
  • Assemble products using tools and automated equipment, including drilling, measuring, cutting, and sawing
  • Cross-train in multiple departments and perform other duties as required by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools
  • Basic understanding of tool usage
  • Previous experience working with janitorial equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor strippers, buffer machines, and carpet/fabric shampooers
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, sketches, instructions, and specifications
  • Basic arithmetic skills: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing units of measure
  • Ability to use a table saw
  • Ability to operate machinery and automated equipment
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, orally and in writing
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and fast-paced environment
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality for assigned shifts
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug screen
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use ladders and perform physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Willingness to learn and be cross-trained throughout the plant
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to follow OSHA and plant safety protocols
