About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate, plan, schedule, and execute JELD-WEN Engineering Design projects
  • Accurately estimate job costs while working with upper-level engineers
  • Prepare appropriation requests with appropriate documentation, including BOMs, approved drawing sets, and project folders
  • Create drawings and 3D models suitable for CAM design
  • Manage simple projects and participate in brainstorming sessions and design reviews
  • Maintain project directories, drawings, cut sheets, and redlines
  • Track project hours against estimated hours and provide feedback to the Engineering Manager
  • Communicate workload and drafting/design issues with the Engineering Manager
  • Interface with material suppliers as needed
  • Analyze requirements and develop conceptual designs
  • Provide marginal supervision of machine fabrication personnel
  • Learn plant-level processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of Inventor and other drawing software
  • Basic understanding of Strength of Materials, Statics, Dynamics, and Machine Design
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, project management tools and techniques
  • Ability to learn plant-level processes
