About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as the subject matter expert for D365 Finance across the UK and US
- Provide specialist functional support for escalated finance issues
- Investigate and resolve complex issues across general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash and bank management, fixed assets and tax
- Support month-end and year-end close in the UK and US
- Support intercompany and multi-currency processes between UK and US legal entities
- Monitor and troubleshoot finance integrations and data flows
- Act as the functional escalation point to the managed service partner
- Lead the functional response to Priority 1 and major incidents
- Partner with Finance, Accounts and Commercial teams to identify process improvements
- Review and shape finance change and enhancement requests, including functional design, configuration and business impact assessment
- Plan and execute testing of fixes, configuration changes and Microsoft service updates
- Support financial reporting and audit requirements
- Coach and upskill the ERP Support Analyst and IT Service team
- Produce finance process guides and knowledge articles in HaloITSM
- Provide finance expertise for future D365 rollouts, including design, testing, go-live and hypercare
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience in an ERP application support or functional consultant role
- Hands-on experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance or Dynamics AX essential
- Strong functional knowledge of record-to-report, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and month-end and year-end close
- Experience configuring D365 Finance, including chart of accounts, financial dimensions, posting profiles, number sequences and approval workflows
- Experience supporting multi-entity, multi-currency ERP environments, including intercompany accounting and foreign exchange revaluation across UK and US legal entities
- Strong understanding of D365 Finance integration with Supply Chain Management, including inventory costing, invoice matching and inventory valuation
- Experience with D365 Financial Reporting, Electronic Reporting and Power BI
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience supporting finance integrations, including bank statement imports, payment files and the Data Management Framework
- Experience using IT Service Management tools; HaloITSM experience considered an advantage
- Experience working with third-party managed service or support partners, including escalation and SLA management
- Working knowledge of SQL would be an advantage
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant (MB-310) and/or ITIL v4 Foundation certification would be an advantage
- Strong written communication skills and ability to create clear user guides and explain technical issues in plain language
- Ability to provide support across UK and US time zones, including regular work outside core hours, particularly around month-end
