About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute business development activities aligned with HCEM growth objectives, target markets, priority accounts, and strategic initiatives
  • Identify and develop new leads and opportunities through outreach, client relationships, industry involvement, referrals, and other initiatives
  • Conduct outreach to prospective and existing clients through calls, emails, meetings, events, campaigns, and relationship-development activities
  • Build and maintain client and prospect relationships and understand their organizations, priorities, challenges, and needs
  • Expand existing accounts through additional services, cross-selling, renewals, and broader Jensen Hughes capabilities
  • Follow up on leads and opportunities, documenting and completing next steps through the sales pipeline
  • Support pursuits from lead through close, including client coordination, follow-up, proposal development, qualifications, scope and fee development, and coordination with technical and operational teams
  • Partner with the HCEM Business Development Manager, Operations, technical resources, and subject matter experts
  • Connect Business Development, Operations, and clients to support communication and continuity
  • Maintain accurate business development information in company systems, including activity, leads, opportunities, pipeline, proposals, orders, renewals, and growth indicators
  • Use established business development processes and tools to provide visibility into activity, opportunity progression, client engagement, and results
  • Support priority account and client development plans
  • Develop relationships at multiple levels within key accounts
  • Support client retention and renewal efforts
  • Communicate the value of Jensen Hughes services and connect client needs with appropriate expertise and solutions
  • Develop knowledge of HCEM and Jensen Hughes service portfolios to identify cross-selling opportunities
  • Monitor healthcare and emergency management trends, client challenges, competition, regulatory changes, and emerging opportunities
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, associations, and client-facing activities
  • Own assigned business development activities while maintaining a collaborative approach

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Two (2) plus years’ experience in business development and/or account management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred
  • Experience with government contract tracking systems or platforms preferred
  • Experience working for a professional services firm preferred
  • General knowledge and confidence using computer databases and menu-driven reports
  • Project coordination and organizational skills, attention to detail, and initiative to follow through
  • Ability to perform at a high level in fast-paced and high-pressure environments
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment
  • Exceptional customer service and strong listening skills
  • Ability to develop innovative plans or solutions
  • Candidates outside New England willing to travel to the Connecticut or New York office approximately quarterly preferred
