About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Engage as a natural “hunter” and relationship builder across the construction insurance sector
  • Develop new business and build strong client relationships
  • Deliver tailored construction insurance and risk management solutions to businesses primarily across the UK, and occasionally Ireland and mainland Europe where regulated
  • Maximise opportunities to exceed income targets through consistent upselling and cross-selling
  • Liaise with the Trading team and Markets to meet clients’ commercial requirements
  • Build new and strengthen existing relationships with regional offices and Group brands
  • Collaborate with regional teams, in-group brokers and Jensten London Market
  • Identify growth opportunities via the existing client base and recognise new business opportunities
  • Streamline new-business processes and systems where appropriate
  • Support renewal retention exceeding divisional targets
  • Ensure compliance with local procedures, customer service standards and external FCA regulations
  • Conduct client visits when needed and maintain regular communication
  • Update relevant systems and administration

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven commercial insurance experience, particularly across the construction sector
  • Commercial and/or Construction insurance background essential
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g Cert CII) or working towards
  • Demonstrable history of strong new business generation and conversion, and strong retentions
  • Strong Construction networks/contacts
  • Great customer service skills
  • Passion and flair for new business
  • Excellent telephone manner and ability to network and build working relationships easily
  • Drive and genuine passion to learn and develop within Insurance
  • Experience working in a similar role with Insurers and clients
  • Ability to use initiative and multitask, updating relevant systems and administration
  • Acturis systems knowledge and experience ideally
  • Ability to conduct client visits when needed
  • Compliance with local procedures, customer service standards and external compliance regulations, e.g. FCA
  • Relevant qualifications are preferred/expected but no minimum educational credential is explicitly required
