About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Draft and review agreements with partners and vendors
Identify key contract issues and support negotiations through execution
Research federal and state regulatory, consumer protection, insurance, privacy, and other legal questions
Turn research findings into practical recommendations for business leaders
Support licenses and recurring regulatory requirements
Help build systems to keep licensing and regulatory requirements current
Review product features, flows, and processes with Product, Engineering, and Operations
Translate legal requirements into product decisions
Investigate complex consumer escalations and regulatory inquiries
Identify root causes and potential legal issues
Propose scalable fixes and convert recurring issues into company-wide compliance training
Design and improve legal and compliance policies, procedures, and operational controls
Address emerging legal and regulatory questions as Jerry launches products, enters partnerships, and expands
Present analysis and recommendations to Legal and business leaders
Track open items, deadlines, filings, and follow-ups

Requirements

What you’ll need

JD or LLM
Record of high academic performance
Experience drafting or reviewing contracts through coursework, a clinic, an internship, or work
Strong legal research and writing skills
Ability to turn complex analysis into clear, practical recommendations
Strong organization and project-management skills
Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously
Must currently reside in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, or Ontario, Canada
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. or Canada
Must be able to work as a full-time salaried employee
