About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own JETSET's retail product strategy, multi-year product roadmap, category roles, pricing, and margin architecture
  • Lead retail R&D, identify product and category opportunities, and run small-batch tests and pilots
  • Set design direction, approve designs and samples, and provide final production sign-off
  • Make go/no-go decisions on new products using sell-through, margin, and reorder data
  • Track competitive and category trends in boutique fitness and athleisure
  • Own SKU-level demand forecasting, inventory planning, open-to-buy budgets, reorder quantities, and size curves
  • Track inventory health, aged and dead stock, capital above target coverage, and clearance plans
  • Own retail revenue and margin growth, per-studio retail sales, attach rate, and franchisee adoption
  • Own product launches, allocations, pre-orders, launch communications, and post-launch reviews
  • Own promotions calendars and franchisee sell-through initiatives
  • Equip franchisees and studio teams with merchandising standards, product training, selling tools, and best practices
  • Identify and develop new retail revenue streams, including client-facing e-commerce, partnerships, and collaborations
  • Manage the 3PL warehouse relationship, including receiving, stock accuracy, fulfillment performance, SLAs, and reconciliations
  • Manage supplier and manufacturer relationships, including lead times, MOQs, production schedules, quality, and landed cost
  • Own purchasing and track purchase orders from placement through receipt
  • Partner with Finance and the CAO's office on vendor contracts, renewals, pricing, and payment terms
  • Lead vendor reviews and performance scorecards
  • Own the annual retail calendar, core styles program, grip socks program, assortment decisions, and SKU rationalization
  • Direct product development through the Director of Merchandise
  • Own opening inventory packs and franchisee-facing ordering communications
  • Maintain feedback loops with franchisees and field teams
  • Own Shopify inventory setup, data accuracy, and retail reporting
  • Lead monthly inventory reviews with Finance, Marketing, and key vendors
  • Report retail performance to leadership
  • Lead and develop the retail team, including the Director of Merchandise and Marketing & Retail Associate
  • Document repeatable planning and purchasing processes as the network scales

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Retail Merchandising, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 8+ years in retail or wholesale merchandising, product management, merchandise planning, or supply chain, including 3+ years leading teams, with P&L or category ownership for a product line
  • Proven track record growing retail or wholesale revenue and margin, with measurable results
  • Experience identifying, testing, and launching new products, and running promotions and sell-through programs through a channel you don't directly control (franchise, wholesale, or multi-location)
  • Experience managing overseas and domestic manufacturers and a 3PL warehouse partner, including purchase orders, lead times, and MOQs
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, lookups, forecasting models)
  • Experience with Shopify or a comparable e-commerce/inventory platform
  • Experience setting product and design direction and leading product development and merchandising teams
  • Strong financial acumen, with comfort discussing inventory capital, margin, and reserves with Finance
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills; ability to manage many priorities in a high-growth environment
  • Strong product eye and commercial instinct
  • Experience growing a retail or wholesale business and driving revenue and margin results
  • Experience building forecasts from messy or incomplete data
  • Experience selling through franchise, wholesale, or multi-location channels
  • Experience building functions inside fast-growing brands is a strong plus, but not required
