About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as the main programmatic point of contact for assigned program areas within Jhpiego’s USG/DOS multi-country global health programming
  • Collaborate with the DOS project’s core global team, technical leads, contributors, and country offices
  • Apply and improve program management methodology, practices, and tools
  • Contribute to budget development, expenditure tracking, subaward development, and consultant engagement
  • Provide advice and support for strategic growth and partnership opportunities
  • Lead moderate-to-high complexity proposals and develop budget inputs, budget reviews, workplan matrices, and management narratives
  • Support country offices with leads development, donor meetings, relationships, and concept notes
  • Facilitate workplan, milestone, GANTT chart, RACI matrix, and implementation planning
  • Establish working parameters and guidelines and inform teams of startup plans and timelines
  • Support development of workplans and project charters aligned with program strategy and scope
  • Review and analyze workplans, milestones, deliverables, and program delivery approaches
  • Advise teams on program management practices, DOS requirements, and Jhpiego PM@Jhpiego procedures
  • Monitor program management standards, service, productivity, efficiency, risks, issues, and compliance
  • Resolve complex problems and escalate technical, project management, financial, and compliance concerns
  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of workplans, milestones, deliverables, documentation, and progress reports
  • Facilitate monthly operations meetings and maintain knowledge management
  • Collaborate with communications and technical staff on strategic communications
  • Contribute programming updates for the Leadership Team
  • Manage project closeout according to internal processes and donor guidelines
  • Conduct After Action Reviews and ensure delivery of quality final reports

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate Degree i.e. MPH with 5 years’ relevant working experience
  • Certified in PM@Jhpiego or Project Management for Development Professionals (DPro); if not completed, must complete within 60 days of hire
  • Proven experience successfully managing public health projects of moderate-to-high complexity and scope with USG funding
  • Knowledge of USG rules and regulations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with diverse groups
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Office 365
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Fluency in a second language (French, Portuguese, or Spanish) preferred
  • Successful candidates subject to a pre-employment background check
