About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work remotely 20–40 hours per week from mid-October through mid-March during the 2026–2027 admissions cycle
- Complete thorough training led by admissions staff
- Perform comprehensive evaluations of first-year applicant information, including academic criteria, activities, essays, recommendations, and additional materials
- Consider each student's context during application review
- Support preparation of files for the transfer review process
- Complete optional projects based on evaluation and selection needs
- Communicate as needed with the admissions reader management team
- Meet weekly numerical targets for files read
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree
- One year of related experience
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, subject to the JHU equivalency formula
- Familiarity with high school transcripts and curricula, both domestic and international, preferred
- Strong analytical and reading skills
- Ability to work well independently and ask questions when necessary
- Excellent time management and organization
- Ability to meet strict deadlines, including weekly numerical targets for files read
- Ability to maintain communication with the admissions reader management team
- Utmost confidentiality and professionalism regarding the application review process and applicant information
- Must have a private computer, suitable workspace, and reliable internet
- Current CBO, independent, school, or admissions counselors are not eligible due to potential conflict of interest
- Applicants with a child currently applying to college are ineligible
- Successful candidate subject to a pre-employment background check
