About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own how Jobber tells its people story externally to prospective talent and internally to employees
  • Set the talent brand strategy and execute the work as a team of one
  • Evolve the talent brand strategy and translate the Employee Value Proposition into campaigns, stories, and candidate experiences
  • Partner with Talent Attraction to develop targeted approaches for priority audiences
  • Build an employee storytelling program across owned and paid channels
  • Set the editorial rhythm, channel strategy, and measurement approach
  • Own the People team communications strategy
  • Communicate performance, compensation, benefits, engagement, learning, and other employee-lifecycle programs
  • Build proactive communication plans for significant changes and equip managers with context and tools
  • Establish communication standards, templates, and planning rhythms across the company
  • Define success metrics and improve content, timing, and channels based on employee feedback and engagement
  • Report to the Senior Director, Talent and partner with Talent Attraction, People, Marketing, and Communications
  • Deliver a talent brand and internal communications strategy, differentiated EVP, storytelling engine, end-to-end People program communications, and measurement baseline in year one

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Deep experience with employer brand, people team communications, and marketing or corporate communications
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Experience building strategy from nothing and executing it independently
  • Credibility with senior stakeholders, including confidence to challenge a brief and recommend a different approach
  • Fluency in audience segmentation, channel strategy, and campaign development
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward building structure where none exists
  • Experience using qualitative and quantitative insight to shape and evaluate the work
  • Experience communicating organizational change or People programs to employee audiences
  • Must be based in Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, or Kitchener-Waterloo
  • Must attend the office at least 1 day per week according to the department schedule
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Successful completion of a background check, including identity verification
