About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own sourcing for a design-led kitchen, cooking, and food brand scaling to 15 launches per year
Take product specifications, mockups, and design briefs from the founder and identify suitable suppliers
Identify and approach 5-6 potential suppliers per product
Obtain NNN agreements and supplier quotes
Negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, samples, and production terms
Manage supplier conversations regarding design and component options
Check in with the founder on product decisions
Use the company's unit economics framework, including HTS codes, cost sheets, and ocean freight, to validate product viability
Drive products through the process until they are checked into FBA in the United States, defining the launch

Requirements

What you’ll need

Sourcing background: understanding of MOQs, supplier negotiation, lead times, production, and ocean freight
Baseline understanding of unit economics, including cost sheets and HTS codes
Experience sourcing from China
Experience exporting shelf stable food and understanding compliance requirements
At least 3-4 hours of overlap with Bangkok (ICT) afternoons, approximately 1pm-5pm Bangkok time
Design eye and attention to detail preferred
Self-directed, accountable, driven, and able to investigate problems independently
Direct communication skills; Eastern European style directness is a plus
Ability to think alongside the founder, not just execute
