About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage core suppliers’ business planning and performance
  • Maintain a healthy financial position for Johnson Brothers
  • Serve as a conduit between suppliers and branches across the U.S.
  • Develop tactical overlays, pricing strategies, target account lists, POS plans, market execution plans, measurable goals, and brand training
  • Plan activities against brand standards and lead national/local POS buys
  • Lead innovation planning, programming, goal setting, inventory management, selling tools, kickoff meetings, training, and tracking
  • Communicate portfolio priorities and execution metrics across channels, geographies, customers, brands, and the Johnson Brothers network
  • Manage grant, tactical, trade, discount, and LMF budgets
  • Identify competitive pricing opportunities and challenges
  • Develop creative selling opportunities and analyze activities by channel, geography, customer, and brand
  • Scorecard performance and measure progress against execution plans, brand standards, goals, innovation, on-premise, and other KPIs
  • Develop business analyses for key accounts and track displays, feature ads, pricing, distribution, visibility, accounts sold, menus, and drink features
  • Lead investment activities, including locally created POS, tactical spends, pricing, national POS, sampling, and local media
  • Monitor and recap pricing strategies and programs
  • Assess supplier, brand, and category health using syndicated data including Nielsen, IRI, and DISCUS
  • Manage supplier and distributor profitability and monitor budgets for risks and opportunities
  • Run business reports and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews and planning meetings with supplier leadership
  • Build comprehensive training programs with suppliers to enhance Johnson Brothers sales capabilities
  • Ensure supplier and corporate compliance measures are followed
  • Work with Purchasing to ensure contractual obligations are met and maintain healthy inventory levels
  • Oversee branch forecasting using Logility
  • Develop relationships with local market sales leaders
  • Plan and execute market surveys across the Johnson Brothers network

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4 Year Degree
  • People management experience
  • Brand/Supplier management experience
  • Experience in Beverage Alcohol Industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable communicating with all levels, including Senior Level Leadership
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with a high sense of urgency, initiative, and proactive planning
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems
  • Capable of leading change
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to guide business conversations
  • Data- and fact-driven ways of working
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
