About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare, set up and adjust CNC Press Brake according to product plans and production schedules
- Load pre-programmed programs and create programs to bend materials
- Facilitate assembly and fabrication of products using sheet metal manipulation machinery
- Fabricate piece parts according to schematics under supervision
- Assemble piece parts into final products
- Familiarize self with and/or request training concerning machining equipment, new equipment, projects and duties
- Inspect and maintain equipment and notify management of malfunctions
- Assist tradespeople and management with project responsibilities safely
- Organize and clean the department, including end-of-day cleaning
- Notify management of unsafe conditions, practices and procedures
- Move materials with a forklift or overhead crane when trained and authorized
- Perform duties in accordance with Silent-Aire safety program standards and applicable safety regulations
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 3 years as a CNC Brake Press Operator of one of the above machines
- Ability to read blueprints and program machining equipment to produce required parts
- Ability to use metal working manipulation machinery (brake, shear, saw, punch, etc.)
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills
- Time management skills
- Critical eye for identifying defects
- Commitment to quality and safety
- Ability to complete daily activities according to work schedule
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and occasionally perform strenuous physical labor
- Completion of high school or equivalent education preferred
- Additional education or apprenticeship program which compliments the Metal Working Machine Operator’s performance is preferred
- Experience with safe practices, procedures, and overall processes associated with manufacturing from raw materials to finished product
- Ability to move materials with forklift or overhead crane if trained and authorized
