About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate ACC, Safan, and Brake Press machines
- Fabricate piece parts according to schematics under supervision of a Team Lead, Supervisor, or Senior Production Manager
- Assemble piece parts into final products
- Familiarize yourself with equipment and request training when needed
- Inspect and maintain equipment, ensuring good working order and reporting malfunctions
- Assist tradespeople and production leadership with project responsibilities safely
- Organize and clean the department, including end-of-day cleaning
- Report unsafe conditions, practices, and procedures
- Move materials with a forklift or overhead crane when trained and authorized
- Perform duties according to Silent-Aire safety program standards and applicable Safety Act, Regulations, and Code
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 3 years as a CNC Brake Press Operator of one of the above machines
- Ability to read blueprints and program machining equipment to produce required parts
- Ability to use metal working manipulation machinery (brake, shear, saw, punch, etc.)
- Familiarity with safe practices, procedures, and overall processes associated with manufacturing from raw materials to finished product
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills
- Time management skills
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams
- Critical eye for identifying defects
- Commitment to quality and safety
- Ability to complete daily activities according to work schedule
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and occasionally perform strenuous physical labor
- Completion of high school or equivalent education preferred
- Additional education or apprenticeship program which complements Metal Working Machine Operator performance preferred
- Forklift or overhead crane operation only if trained and authorized
