About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design larger, more complex HVAC equipment projects for customers throughout the U.S.
  • Support complex equipment projects and ensure completion accurately, on time, within contract scope, and in alignment with customer expectations
  • Work with sales and project management to balance data center customer satisfaction and project financial results
  • Manage project profit and loss (P&L) and customer satisfaction
  • Manage backlog execution, schedules, and forecasts up to two years in advance with branch administrations
  • Manage project turnover between equipment sales and equipment order execution
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to develop engineered equipment submittals
  • Prepare and process engineering submittals, including coil selection and hand coordination, fan selection, chiller performance verification, and chiller configuration and option selection
  • Evaluate contractual scope of supply and the impact of client-issued bulletins, field directives, and scheduling changes
  • Coordinate cross-scope items with project team members
  • Prepare cost estimates and proposals; negotiate settlement prices and customer acceptance for scope changes/change orders with sales
  • Coordinate factory equipment orders for technical and commercial compliance
  • Generate technical content for purchase orders and select, order, and track field-purchased materials and equipment
  • Coordinate logistics, factory schedules, and project schedules; review equipment order status and identify critical delivery requirements
  • Ensure project documentation complies with contract requirements, Johnson Controls standards, and equipment order execution processes
  • Coordinate customer training requirements with local Johnson Controls service
  • Coordinate between HVAC branches and customers to ensure payment in full upon project completion

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years operations management experience, or mechanical engineering experience
  • Project management
  • Knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, thermal analysis, fluid dynamics, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large complex projects with extensive execution teams with professionalism, cooperation, and persistence
  • AutoCAD experience preferred
