About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead large, complex, and multi-million-dollar Controls construction projects in data centers across the U.S.
  • Execute assigned projects profitably, accurately, on time, within budget, and within contract scope
  • Collaborate early with sales managers, installation managers, and project teams to strategize, assess risks, and recommend vendor selection and scope enhancements
  • Act as the primary on-site leader for execution teams
  • Develop and manage project schedules aligned with project plans
  • Evaluate contractual scopes of work and manage impacts from client-issued bulletins or scheduling changes
  • Pursue additional work opportunities through change orders
  • Manage costs, billings, and collections to maintain profitability and positive cash flow
  • Communicate project progress, issues, and financial status to management using tools such as Microsoft Project
  • Ensure project document controls meet contract requirements and company standards
  • Oversee construction compliance with specifications and installation techniques
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships and coordinate project meetings and training sessions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on resource allocation, engineering, and commissioning
  • Enforce safety standards among staff and subcontractors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or equivalent work-related experience
  • Minimum eight years of direct project management experience in building construction, preferably in data centers
  • Management experience in Mechanical Retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS management, Fire management, and Security management systems within data centers
  • Commitment to obtaining PMI/PMP certification within two years of employment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Proficiency in project management and financial accounting software
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, Adobe Writer, and Visio
  • Willingness to travel 10%, varying by project assignments, including outside assigned geography when necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple subcontractors and scopes of work
  • Experience handling diverse challenges across multiple subject areas, showcasing problem-solving and continuous improvement capabilities
