About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Professionally represent the Company in promoting and selling Fire Safety Systems to customers and end users within an assigned territory and accounts
  • Establish contact with prospects and qualify potential buyers through sales calls, lead follow-up, and Johnson Controls marketing strategies
  • Develop sales strategies to explain company product offerings, qualify and prioritize opportunities, and maintain territory records
  • Conduct seminars, demonstrations, and other activities to generate, develop, and qualify prospective customer leads
  • Develop financial justifications, prepare proposals, make presentations, and perform follow-up to close sales
  • Interface with district operations to deliver and improve service delivery
  • Deliver sales against an assigned quota
  • Maintain established accounts through regular customer contact to pursue follow-on sales
  • Report progress and provide metrics to operations and corporate teams weekly and monthly
  • Participate in trade shows, product demonstrations, and other events to increase sales and enhance the company image

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor degree in marketing, business, or engineering preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years successful sales experience in Electronic or similar industry
  • Highly motivated and success driven
  • Ability to quickly identify and qualify opportunities
  • High degree of self-discipline
  • Experience working with electrical contractors desirable
  • Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams desirable
  • Computer experience, with Microsoft and Oracle programs preferred
  • Good oral and written communication skills and sales techniques
  • Ability to persuade and close sales
  • Self-Motivation with good organizational skills
  • Ability to obtain appropriate licenses required by national, state and local codes
