About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Professionally represent Johnson Controls in promoting and selling Fire Safety Systems to customers and end users within an assigned territory and accounts
- Establish contact with prospects and qualify potential buyers through sales calls, lead follow-up, and Johnson Controls marketing strategies
- Develop sales strategies to communicate product offerings, qualify and prioritize opportunities, and maintain territory records
- Conduct seminars, demonstrations, and other activities to generate, develop, and qualify prospective customer leads
- Develop financial justifications, prepare proposals, make presentations, and perform follow-up to close sales
- Interface with district operations to deliver and improve service delivery
- Deliver sales against an assigned quota
- Maintain established accounts through regular customer contact to pursue follow-on sales
- Report progress and metrics to operations and corporate teams weekly and monthly
- Participate in trade shows, product demonstrations, and other events to increase sales and enhance the company’s image
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor degree in marketing, business, or engineering preferred or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 3 years successful sales experience in Electronic or similar industry
- Highly motivated and success driven
- Ability to quickly identify and qualify opportunities
- High degree of self-discipline
- Experience working with electrical contractors desirable
- Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams desirable
- Computer experience with Microsoft and Oracle programs preferred
- Good oral and written communication skills and sales techniques
- Ability to persuade and close sales
- Self-motivation with good organizational skills
- Ability to obtain appropriate licenses required by national, state and local codes
