Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the HVAC business by executing sales strategies to achieve profitability, growth, and market penetration
  • Develop and direct construction and service sales teams selling planned service agreements, controls and mechanical retrofits, O&M agreements, construction controls projects, and labor and material repairs
  • Develop and deliver branch secured sales and margin plans for all lines of business in the assigned geography
  • Hire, coach, and develop salespeople
  • Oversee sales team expenses and manage resources to improve profit position
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with strategically important customers
  • Build and maintain a high-performance sales team
  • Manage the Building Technologies & Solutions sales portfolio to maximize secured sales, return on assets, revenue, and growth objectives
  • Increase market penetration by securing new customers and expanding existing customer business
  • Analyze market and business performance and execute growth strategies
  • Integrate sales and operational team activity within the assigned staffing geography
  • Establish and drive local territory account management
  • Build and foster a team environment across geographies
  • Evaluate customer satisfaction and lead performance enhancement and issue resolution
  • Review bids and estimates and oversee bid preparation and operational review meetings
  • Ensure company standards, processes, and tools are used and applied
  • Provide accurate sales forecasting and hold the sales team accountable to forecasts
  • Execute sales staffing plans; recruit, hire, and retain the sales force
  • Deliver performance expectations, reviews, and development plans for direct reports
  • Direct performance management of sales personnel
  • Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal legal requirements
  • Represent Johnson Controls in local community, industry, recruiting, and professional activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business or Marketing
  • Three years of experience in a lead or supervisory role with responsibility for the productivity or development of others
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to people at all levels
  • Ability to communicate on both a technical and non-technical basis
