About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive New Product Development, Product Enhancements, and Sustaining Engineering initiatives across a dedicated product line
- Work closely with Product Design Managers and cross-functional teams to bring concepts to life
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and fellow designers
- Monitor design projects to identify potential risks and adjust when necessary
- Research and communicate with various departments to resolve gaps in design scope
- Develop designs aligned with manufacturing capabilities
- Retrieve and apply information from engineering standards, schematics, purchasing and manufacturing specifications
- Prepare, release, and revise drawings and Bills of Material
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proficient knowledge of 3D design software (CREO) and general knowledge of 3D Design Intent Concepts
- High level of mechanical design understanding
- System or large assembly layouts
- Sheet metal construction and DFM
- Drawing creation and drawing best practices
- PDM system-related file management processes
- Ability to work with ambiguity regarding design specifications and resolve scope gaps
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and alignment of designs with manufacturing capabilities
- Knowledge of design procedures, engineering standards, schematics, purchasing and manufacturing specifications for preparation, release and revision of drawings and Bills of Material
- CREO experience
- Technical/Associate Degree in Mechanical Design/Drafting with 2+ years of experience, or 5+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Sheet metal, piping, and large assembly design
- US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident of the United States
