About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead multiple concurrent Fire Detection New Product Introduction programs through the full product lifecycle
  • Balance scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk while ensuring compliance with Johnson Controls' Product Development Process
  • Drive alignment and execution across global cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, Product Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, and Training
  • Develop and maintain integrated program plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies
  • Manage project and departmental budgets, including planning, forecasting, tracking, and reporting
  • Lead Value Analysis / Value Engineering initiatives to improve cost competitiveness, optimize designs, and maximize product value
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve program risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Communicate program status, key metrics, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Advance PMO effectiveness through mentoring, best-practice adoption, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience leading electronic product development and NPI programs within a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex software and hardware products
  • Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional programs in global organizations
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasts, resource plans, risks, and portfolio reporting
  • Strong knowledge of Agile and traditional project management methodologies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Excel
  • Ability to drive execution through influence, collaboration, and effective stakeholder management
  • Track record of elevating program management maturity through mentoring, process improvement, best-practice implementation, and leadership
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Proficiency in Visio, Jira, Confluence, and Power BI preferred
  • Experience within the fire protection, life safety, or highly regulated industries preferred
  • Candidates must be commuting distance to the facility, or able to relocate
