About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the full range of Ethicon surgical devices and solutions, with a focus on energy and endomechanical platforms
- Sell surgical solutions to surgeons and hospital decision makers, primarily in operating room settings
- Manage an assigned territory covering Rockford, Illinois; Davenport, Iowa; Moline and Rock Island, Illinois; and Bettendorf, Iowa
- Develop assigned physician and hospital institution accounts
- Attain sales forecasts for assigned accounts and territory
- Set priorities and make sound business decisions based on account sales opportunities
- Demonstrate proper product use to operating room clinicians
- Manage customer questions and objections consistently with product indications and sales methodology
- Execute compliant, ethical, professional, and persuasive selling processes
- Conduct sales presentations using current selling methods
- Analyze data, monitor market information, and conduct business planning
- Build relationships with physicians, hospital personnel, authorized distributors, and key opinion leaders
- Conduct customer education seminars as appropriate
- Comply with safe-behavior standards and demonstrate product, procedure, and clinical knowledge
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of relevant business experience in medical sales (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology) or healthcare
- Exceptional achievement of sales objectives
- Valid driver's license issued in the United States
- Ability to sell surgical solutions to surgeons and hospital decision makers
- Ability to demonstrate proper product use to clinicians in the operating room
- Knowledge of product, procedure, and clinical practices
- Ability to work within healthcare compliance guidelines
- Strong time management and planning skills preferred
- Hospital-based pharmaceutical or medical device experience preferred
- Experience developing new, innovative markets preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills preferred
