About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the full range of Ethicon surgical devices and solutions, with a focus on energy and endomechanical platforms
  • Sell surgical solutions to surgeons and hospital decision makers, primarily in operating room settings
  • Manage an assigned sales territory focused on physicians and hospital institutions
  • Attain forecasts in assigned accounts and territory
  • Set priorities and make sound business decisions based on sales opportunities within accounts
  • Understand and demonstrate proper product use to clinicians in operating room environments
  • Manage customer questions and objections consistently with product indications and sales training methodology
  • Execute concise, professional, ethical, compliant, and persuasive sales cycles
  • Conduct sales presentations using current selling methods
  • Analyze data and stay updated on market information
  • Develop business plans and prioritize account opportunities
  • Build customer relationships with physicians, hospital personnel, and authorized distributors
  • Conduct customer education seminars as appropriate
  • Comply with safe-behavior standards and demonstrate product, procedure, and clinical knowledge

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1+ years of relevant business experience in medical sales (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology) or healthcare, demonstrating exceptional achievement of sales objectives
  • A valid driver's license issued in the United States
  • Preferred: sales performance, account targeting, daily action planning, and collaboration with peers, marketing, Strategic Account Managers, distributor representatives, and KOLs
  • Preferred: strong time management and planning skills
  • Preferred: hospital-based pharmaceutical or medical device experience, including operating room sales
  • Preferred: experience selling to a highly educated/high-profile customer base
  • Preferred: experience developing new, innovative markets
  • Preferred: excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Preferred: team-oriented approach
