About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the Global Master Data Management platform data landscape
- Continuously assess and harmonize data needs to optimally drive business objectives
- Provide leadership and mentorship to associates within the Global Master Data Management Engineering/Ops organization
- Ensure team members have the technical and business skills needed to meet objectives
- Maintain strong working relationships with partners and develop their MDM knowledge
- Establish and maintain metrics to drive process improvements across MDM domains and environments/platforms
- Make independent decisions and present process and policy recommendations to DePuy Synthes Information Technologies leadership
- Partner with internal teams on requirements definition and gathering for programs interfacing with Enterprise Data Warehouses, Enterprise Data Lake, and business solution environments
- Develop and lead systems improvement initiatives across Master Data Management systems
- Maintain engagement with executive leaders, directors, and managers during planning and execution of improvement efforts
- Lead support for use and understanding of tools accessing data in MDM applications, including content education, training, and tool development and enhancement
- Communicate related issues or opportunities to the next management level
- Ensure applicable staff follow Company Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines
- Ensure personal and Company compliance with Federal, State, local, and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
- Scale the DePuy Synthes Master Data Management ecosystem into a global best-in-class medallion architecture
- Ensure a high-quality data environment that treats data as an asset to the orthopaedic organization
- Enable data-driven community insights that inform broader organizational strategies
- Oversee availability, security, performance, releases, patching, access, and environment health of MDM platforms
- Perform other assigned duties as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS, BA degree (Business/IT related preferred), MBA or MS
- Minimum 8+ years work experience required, preferably in related field
- Prior people management experience required
- Experience with MDM platform technologies (SAP MDG / Reltio) – Implementation and Support
- Experience creating an Enterprise or Business-specific Master Data Management Strategy supporting multifaceted data architecture, data governance framework and AI data readiness
- Consistent track record of leading or mentoring teams to achieve significant quality and process improvements
- Experience developing training materials and instructing others at all levels required
- Strong Project/Account management and Testing Strategy skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment with tight timelines
- Proven success working with outsource partners and leading projects on-time and on budget
- Experience with Master Data Management, Supply Chain, R&D, Corporate, and Commercial Systems
- Strong business acumen and technical skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Strong social and interpersonal skills
- Results-oriented problem-solving/resolution skills
- Good critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work in a matrix reporting structure and as part of a project team

- Experience with process improvement tools such as SFE and LEAN/Six Sigma preferred
- Proficiency in query and report-writing tools preferred
- Proficiency with Incentive Compensation Systems preferred
- Proficiency in PC software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Windows required
