About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operationalize and maintain the end-to-end data governance framework across critical commercial data domains in EMEA
  • Schedule, prepare, host, and facilitate data governance forums
  • Document decisions and follow up actions to closure
  • Coordinate Data Stewards and Administrators across the region
  • Own business glossaries, data dictionaries, lineage documentation, ownership registers, and retention schedules
  • Monitor governance and data quality standards, track exceptions, escalate breaches, and drive root-cause resolution
  • Ensure governance requirements are reflected in system designs, data models, and change control processes
  • Coordinate with Business and IT System Owners to embed standards
  • Drive awareness and adoption of governance standards across diverse stakeholders and markets
  • Identify patterns, gaps, and improvement opportunities and feed input into governance strategy evolution
  • Report directly to the Data Strategy & Capability Leader

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Data Science, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in a data-focused role within a commercial environment
  • Proven track record in data governance; experience building, operationalizing, or running a governance framework
  • Hands-on experience in data quality, including defining standards, monitoring adherence, root-cause analysis, and preventative controls
  • Exposure to commercial data systems and landscapes; familiarity with ERP, CRM, pricing, or master data environments is advantageous
  • Experience coordinating or working alongside Data Stewards, Data Administrators, or similar data practitioner communities
  • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills
  • Ability to lead through influence
  • Highly proactive and self-driven
  • Ability to navigate a complex, multi-country stakeholder environment
  • Fluent English required; additional European languages are an advantage
  • MedTech or healthcare experience is a plus
