About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead global Oncology Communications & Public Affairs for the Solid Tumor portfolio and pipeline across lung, head and neck, gastrointestinal cancers, and Interventional Oncology
  • Oversee product, reputation, public affairs, and organizational communications
  • Partner across global, regional, market, and enterprise teams to support business priorities and strengthen stakeholder trust
  • Develop integrated global communications and public affairs strategies aligned with enterprise and business priorities
  • Partner with regional and market teams to adapt and execute strategies across priority markets
  • Develop market-shaping strategies engaging policy, advocacy, and healthcare stakeholders
  • Lead business development communications for the portfolio and pipeline
  • Deliver measurable outcomes across earned, owned, shared, and paid channels while managing issues and reputational risk
  • Advise senior leaders across R&D, Global Commercial Strategy, Supply Chain, Business Development, Commercial, HR, Finance, Investor Relations, and Global Reputation & Engagement
  • Translate business priorities into communications and public affairs strategies and drive execution through influence
  • Position R&D and commercial leaders as credible voices on unmet need, scientific innovation, and Johnson & Johnson's oncology portfolio
  • Champion the Innovative Medicine Communications & Public Affairs operating model
  • Strengthen collaboration, agility, capability building, and organizational effectiveness
  • Lead and develop team members and agency partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in communications, public affairs, or related external engagement roles
  • Deep understanding of the biopharmaceutical environment, including R&D, commercialization, access, policy, competitive, and reputational dynamics
  • Experience advising senior business, commercial, and scientific leaders
  • Experience leading complex global initiatives and building alignment across functions and markets
  • Ability to translate stakeholder and market insights into integrated strategies with measurable business outcomes
  • Exceptional written, oral, and visual communication skills
  • Experience managing issues and reputational risk in a highly regulated environment
  • Strong strategic thinking, executive presence, organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, executional discipline, and sense of urgency
  • Experience leading and developing people and partners within an inclusive, high-performing culture
  • Up to 25% of domestic and international travel is required
  • Preferred: advanced degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Policy, Life Sciences, or a related field
  • Preferred: experience in oncology or related specialty disease areas
  • Preferred: experience partnering with Public Affairs, Market Access, and Government Affairs
  • Preferred: experience working across multiple regions and markets
