About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own assigned manufacturing and test equipment through specification, selection, design review, FAT/SAT, installation, commissioning, qualification, release, maintenance, modification, and retirement
  • Execute or support URS/FRS, risk assessments, engineering drawings, maintenance strategies, spare-parts plans, calibration requirements, work instructions, change records, and validation protocols/reports
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, robotic, controls, software-interface, and computer-related equipment failures while protecting personnel, product, data integrity, and the validated state
  • Monitor equipment Availability and uptime; analyze downtime events, MTBF, MTTR, work-order history, repeat failures, and response effectiveness; implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Analyze equipment Performance losses such as slow cycles, micro-stops, jams, intermittent faults, and reduced operating rate
  • Analyze equipment Quality losses, including equipment-related defects, rework, false failures, measurement-system issues, and calibration drift
  • Use structured problem solving such as 5 Whys, fault-tree analysis, fishbone, FMEA, and data trending to eliminate repeat failures and verify effectiveness
  • Create accurate CMMS work orders and asset records; use maintenance history to optimize PM tasks, frequencies, spare parts, and equipment readiness
  • Coordinate suppliers and technicians, support audits and inspections, and train users on safe and compliant equipment operation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Controls, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in accordance with company requirements
  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant equipment, automation, maintenance, manufacturing, or test engineering experience in medical device, robotics, life sciences, semiconductor, aerospace, or another regulated environment
  • Hands-on experience with electromechanical equipment, automated test systems, robotics, controls, instrumentation, pneumatics, sensors, calibration, or custom fixtures
  • Working knowledge of GMP, design controls, controlled documentation, change control, deviation/nonconformance processes, and equipment qualification concepts
  • Experience using equipment data, downtime history, yield or first-pass results, and maintenance records to identify OEE losses and improvement opportunities
  • Working knowledge of OEE components: Availability, Performance, and Quality, including the operational data needed to calculate and interpret each factor
  • Systematic troubleshooting and safe decision-making under production pressure
  • Interpretation of schematics, wiring diagrams, CAD drawings, technical specifications, PLC/controls information, and validation protocols
  • CMMS proficiency, technical writing, documentation discipline, and change-control execution
  • Clear cross-functional communication with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Validation, EHS, Facilities, IT/OT, technicians, and suppliers
