About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide physician and hospital staff training and procedural case coverage
  • Support peripheral and coronary interventional procedures during pre-market and post-market product development
  • Support the safe and effective use of Shockwave Medical Intravascular Lithotripsy technology
  • Participate in clinical studies, including device training, case support, and timely data collection
  • Present clinical study training materials based on investigational plans, including study protocols, instructions for use, core lab manuals, and case report forms
  • Manage key study investigators and maintain relationships with medical advisors and clinical leaders
  • Partner with clinical research colleagues on site retraining, data collection, database locks, and critical issue resolution
  • Manage territory travel and budgets
  • Support other territories as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in business, science, nursing or related fields, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience directly supporting interventional or surgical procedures within a hospital setting OR 1 year of industry, hospital-based life sciences, or sales support experience
  • Working knowledge of clinical research, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and regulatory compliance guidelines for clinical trials
  • History of effective collaboration with regulatory agencies through clinical studies and market releases
  • Product knowledge including product vigilance and medical device reporting
  • Computer skills, including MS Office, word processing, and spreadsheets
  • Finance and budgeting knowledge
  • Good prioritization and organizational skills
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
  • Entrepreneurial, hands-on experience and proactive attitude
  • Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to operate independently or as part of a team and adapt to changing requirements
  • Significant travel, greater than 50% of time
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods, more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8-hour day
  • Ability to lift objects up to 40 lbs or more
  • Must currently reside in the Palo Alto area; no relocation assistance offered
