About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage day-to-day import and export operations to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with international trade regulations and company policies
- Prepare, review, and maintain trade documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to resolve shipment issues, delays, or discrepancies
- Ensure adherence to UK, EU, and global customs laws, trade compliance requirements, and internal standards
- Monitor and support customs clearance activities, including tariff classification, valuation, and duty management
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with audit, quality, and regulatory requirements
- Partner with supply chain, procurement, quality, and finance teams to support efficient cross-border material flows
- Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and cost control within import/export operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or a related field (required)
- Typically requires 3–5 years of experience in import/export operations, logistics, or global trade compliance within a regulated environment
- Working knowledge of customs regulations, trade compliance, and international shipping processes
- Experience preparing and reviewing import/export documentation with a high degree of accuracy
- Proficiency in English (required)
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously
- Effective communication and collaboration with internal and external partners
- Experience supporting import/export activities for medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated products
- Familiarity with UK and EU customs processes, including post-Brexit trade requirements
- Experience working with ERP or trade management systems
- Exposure to audits, inspections, or regulatory reviews related to customs or trade compliance
- Limited travel may be required, up to 10%
- Customs or trade compliance certifications (e.g., CILT, IATA, or equivalent) are preferred but not required
