About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support day-to-day legal operations activities, including matter management, intake processes, payment systems, and training resources
- Assist with legal spend management, budgeting, forecasting, and invoice review in partnership with Finance
- Support implementation and ongoing use of legal technology tools, including matter management, e-billing, and contract lifecycle systems
- Coordinate with and oversee outside counsel and other vendors, including onboarding, performance tracking, and compliance with billing guidelines
- Develop and maintain dashboards and metrics on Legal Organization operations
- Support process improvement initiatives, including alternative legal service providers, right-shoring, technology, automated legal services, and artificial intelligence
- Assist with development and maintenance of Legal Organization policies
- Support the General Counsel’s efforts to improve operational efficiency, enable data-driven decision-making, manage outside counsel and vendor costs, optimize technological tools, and support special projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required; Business Administration, Legal Studies, Finance, Operations, or related field preferred
- 6–8 years of experience supporting Legal operations, Legal departments, or similar professional services operations
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience working with data, reports, and metrics to support operational decision-making
- Proficiency with common business tools, such as Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, and comfort learning new systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance
- Experience with legal matter management, e-billing, or contract lifecycle management systems preferred
- Experience supporting outside counsel management and legal spend analytics preferred
- Experience soliciting vendors through RFPs and RFIs preferred
- Experience driving or supporting process improvement initiatives preferred
- Familiarity or experience with project management methodologies or tools preferred
- Legal Operations or Project Management certifications preferred but not required
