About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and drive the Procurement vision with the Orthopaedics partner community
- Deliver supplier performance across reliability of supply, quality, cost, innovation, and growth commitments
- Serve as owner of procurement activity and engage business partners and key stakeholders across Supply Chain and R&D
- Participate in leadership teams and financial forums to align goals and drive major decisions
- Orchestrate supply base strategy performance using business data and insights
- Understand long-range business requirements and engage in strategic planning and S&OP forums
- Own Procurement metrics and deliver annual value improvements
- Build relationships throughout DePuy Synthes and maintain dialogue supporting optimal approaches and solutions
- Develop deep relationships with strategic suppliers
- Bring innovation to new product development and ensure robust supplier selection
- Deliver Type 0 / Type 1 CIP and drive adherence to supplier selection processes
- Identify supplier-related issues and collaborate on resolutions
- Determine and implement strategic Lifecycle Management activities with Product Managers, Supply Chain stakeholders, and external partners
- Act as key Supply Chain Procurement business partner to multiple functions, Franchise and Supply Chain leadership, R&D leadership, and Indirect Procurement
- Lead strategic sourcing, supplier management, reliability, and cost activities
- Align cross-category sourcing strategies with business, sector, Supply Chain, and R&D needs
- Coordinate strategic and business plans, monitor execution, and communicate results to senior leaders
- Ensure Procurement and business activities align with policies, procedures, compliance, quality, cost, and innovation requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or MBA
- 5+ years of related experience
- Broad-based understanding of Orthopaedics business operations and Procurement areas including Spend Management, Category Management, and Supplier Management
- Strong business acumen
- Leadership, vision, strategy-setting, negotiation, communication, collaboration, and talent development skills
- Project management and change management capabilities
- Multi-country and multi-sector experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present complex information
- Ability to continuously improve the organization
- Experience in Supply Chain, Operations, or General Management roles affecting change preferred
- At least 5+ years within a Procurement environment preferred
- Proficiency in supplier management, market intelligence, Category Management, and Procurement Excellence
- Executive-level credibility with internal customers and suppliers
- Cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills
- Track record leading cross-functional teams
- Business and contractual acumen
- Team-building skills
- Flexibility and willingness to respond to external changes
- Ability to travel 10%
