About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform intermediate electro-mechanical assembly of robotic system modules, including joints, control modules, and cable harnesses
- Operate in a structured production line environment to meet daily build targets while complying with ISO 13485, FDA QSR, and Good Documentation Practices
- Interpret assembly procedures to build, verify, and validate mechanical and electromechanical components
- Conduct functional, electrical, and mechanical tests using calibrated tools, test fixtures, torque equipment, and multimeters
- Troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical issues and escalate complex or systemic issues to engineering
- Perform minor mechanical and electrical repairs to support production continuity
- Maintain ESD controls, clean manufacturing protocols, and contamination-control standards
- Document production activities, test outcomes, and inspection data in MES, ERP/SAP, and electronic DHR systems
- Perform in-process inspections and support quality verifications
- Provide feedback on assembly sequences, documentation, and fixture/tool improvements
- Support manufacturing engineering with line setup, fixture validation, NPI builds, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support training and guidance for new or entry-level technicians
- Prepare production lines through line clearance, equipment maintenance and calibration checks, material readiness, material transactions, cycle counts, and shortage/discrepancy reporting
- Work Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:30 PM at the Milpitas location; complete initial training at the Santa Clara site from 6:00 AM-2:30 PM
- Work occasional weekends and overtime as required by production demand
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly within medical devices, electromechanical systems, capital equipment calibration and validation, or related regulated industries
- Hands-on experience with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and regulated environments
- Proficiency with torque wrenches, screwdrivers, calipers, multimeters, presses, and similar assembly tools
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime and weekend shifts, in response to business needs
- Ability to work with Kanban operations, MES, and software-based test procedures
- Experience with Learning Management Systems such as ComplianceWire, MES, SAP, or similar systems
- Exposure to robotics or surgical device assembly and troubleshooting
- Experience with calibration and validation activities for electromechanical or robotic systems
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, assembly instructions, and engineering documentation
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills, including use of multimeters, grounding, and isolation
- Ability to maintain certification and proficiency on at least three designated modules while meeting safety, quality, and training requirements
