About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement a scientific engagement plan for the Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky territory
- Cultivate relationships with community and academic opinion leaders/KOLs
- Conduct two-way scientific exchange with healthcare professionals
- Collect, synthesize, and apply clinical, scientific, competitive, and territory information
- Provide product and technical assistance and educational training during in-room clinical support for product insertion, removal, and related procedures
- Leverage AI tools to improve decision making, processes, efficiency, and outcomes
- Monitor competitors and incorporate evidence-based clinical context into engagement planning
- Deliver scientific data through dialogue and presentations
- Identify unmet needs and propose evidence-based solutions or educational initiatives
- Submit actionable insights aligned with organizational priorities
- Respond to unsolicited inquiries about J&J products and research
- Support company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies
- Collaborate with Medical Affairs, R&D, Clinical Operations, Sales, Marketing, and other internal stakeholders
- Maintain scientific knowledge through self-reading, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and peer discussions
- Foster inclusion and belonging
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory, healthcare compliance, corporate conduct, and Medical Affairs requirements
- Develop a performance and development plan with the Field Director
- Complete administrative documentation and expense reporting accurately and compliantly
Requirements
What you’ll need- Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience required (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers)
- In-depth scientific and/or therapeutic knowledge
- Research and/or health care system knowledge
- Proficiency in data gathering and analysis, clinical expertise, problem solving, interpersonal influence, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and competitive landscape analysis
- Ability to support a specific territory with up to 70% travel
- Must hold a valid US Driver’s License
- 2+ years of relevant experience preferred, preferably in an MSL role
- 2+ years of therapeutic area experience preferred
- Residency/fellowship preferred
- Board certification for clinical degrees preferred
- Commitment to learning and applying emerging technologies such as AI
