About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and implement a scientific engagement plan aligned with Medical Affairs strategy and medical objectives
  • Cultivate relationships with community and academic opinion leaders/KOLs
  • Conduct high-quality, two-way scientific exchange with healthcare professionals
  • Collect, synthesize, and apply clinical, scientific, competitive, and territory information
  • Leverage AI tools and insights to improve decision-making, processes, efficiency, and outcomes
  • Maintain awareness of competitors and incorporate evidence-based clinical context into scientific discussions
  • Deliver scientific data tailored to HCP needs through dialogue and presentations
  • Identify challenges or unmet needs and propose evidence-based solutions or educational initiatives
  • Submit timely, actionable insights informing medical strategy and cross-functional discussions
  • Respond to unsolicited inquiries about J&J products and research
  • Support investigators and internal partners for company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies
  • Collaborate with MSL field partners, R&D, U.S. and Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Sales, and Marketing
  • Maintain scientific acumen through self-reading, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and peer discussions
  • Foster inclusion and belonging
  • Maintain competence in regulatory, healthcare compliance, ethical conduct, and Medical Affairs SOPs
  • Develop a performance and development plan with the Field Director
  • Complete administrative documentation and expense reporting accurately and compliantly

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience is required (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers)
  • Post graduate experience is required for Doctoral level candidates, with preference for therapeutic area clinical experience
  • In-depth scientific and/or therapeutic knowledge
  • Research and/or health care system knowledge
  • Proficiency in data gathering and analysis, clinical expertise, problem solving, interpersonal influence, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and competitive landscape analysis
  • Ability to support a specific territory with up to 70% travel
  • Must hold a valid US Driver’s License
  • Preferred: 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in MSL role
  • 2+ years of therapeutic area experience preferred
  • Residency/fellowship preferred
  • Board certification for clinical degrees preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning emerging technologies, such as AI
  • Located in a major metro area; Orlando preferred
