About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the R&D Procurement or Commercial Procurement teams in the strategic acquisition of goods and services for J&J Innovative Medicine
- Support implementation and achievement of J&J goals and objectives with a multinational approach in an international team
- Lead special projects across the team, including Category Strategy development and execution
- Support procurement activities across a variety of categories
- Manage supplier relationships and identify supplier innovation opportunities
- Conduct competitive sourcing events, process improvement initiatives, and spending analyses
- Track key performance indicators and support functional initiatives
- Apply data-driven insights to inform sourcing decisions and supplier evaluations
- Explore and recommend innovative digital tools to enhance procurement processes and supplier collaboration
Requirements
What you’ll need- Actively enrolled in an accredited university for the duration of the co-op assignment, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree
- Completion of undergraduate freshman year is required
- Pursuing a degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or a related field
- Demonstrated strong analytical and quantitative skills, including experience with data analytics tools and techniques
- Technological curiosity and a proactive approach to exploring digital solutions in procurement
- Ability to work in a matrixed environment with rapidly changing priorities and tight deadlines
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills
- Ability to balance multiple projects and initiatives while delivering results
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization features
- Must be a self-starter who works independently while contributing to team goals
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) and adhere to J&J’s Flex policy (minimum 3 days/week in office)
- Local travel may be required; candidates must provide their own transportation
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1-B) now or in the future
- Permanently authorized to work in the U.S.; must not require sponsorship of an employment visa at the time of application or in the future
- Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship and do not meet the requirements unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship
